At our Ashram in Santa Rosa, Ca. ~ Ananda Kamalalaya ~ , Ananda Seva holds weekly group meditations, has kirtan & chanting evenings and offers individualized meditation instruction, as well as meditation and yoga classes. We also offer Yoga Teacher Training, Yoga Therapy Training, have meditation & yoga retreats, yoga days and other trainings and events.

Personalized Meditation Instruction

Ananda Seva offers individualized meditation instruction based in the traditions of Asthanga Yoga & Classical Tantra. They are given in one-on-one consultation with one of our local Acharyas (meditation teachers), Ananda Maetreyii Ma (707-291-6798) or Ananda Deviika Ma (707-478-2745). There is also a meditation class currently being held on Wednesday nights with Ananda Deviika Ma.

Dharmachakra: Meditation – Sundays, 5:30 – 7:00 pm

All are cordially invited to join us for an evening of inspiration and meditation in the Ananda Seva tradition. We begin each evening with kiirtan and spiritual song to inspire devotion, followed by a half-hour meditation and an intuitive spiritual talk on the nature of Self or a group discussion. After there is time for sharing and snacks.

Dharmachakra consists of:

  • Devotional Songs
  • Kiirtan – Spiritual Dance with Chanting
  • Samigacchadvam – Collective Chant to Begin Meditation
  • Nityam – Collective Chant to end Meditation
  • Guru Puja – Offering to the Divine
  • Spiritual Discourse and Discussion
  • Sattvic Vegetarian Potluck

Please call us in advance to let us know you are coming. If this is your first time attending Dharmachakra, please come 15-20 minutes early for orientation. Everyone is welcome, free of charge. Donations are graciously accepted but not required.

Kiirtan Evenings – 3rd Friday of every month, 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Please come join us for beautiful music, meditation, and joyful celebration of our connection to the Divine! There will be chanting and kiirtan, followed by group meditation and a devotional/intuitive message. Afterward, stay to enjoy tea and sweets with spiritual friends and family. As with Dharmachakra, everyone is welcome, free of charge.

Call us for more information or to inform us of your intent to attend. Please plan to carpool if possible, as parking is limited and kiirtan evenings can be quite popular.

Morning Yoga Classes with Gayatri Dawson – Mondays, 8:00 – 9:15 am

Ananda Kamalalaya is pleased to offer Monday morning yoga classes with community member Gayatri Dawson. Her style of teaching is eclectic, melding Hatha and Somatic yoga with dance movement principles and Buddhist mindfulness. That may sound like a lot of ingredients in the stew, but it is all beautifully simple on the yoga mat. Most classes begin with centering and breathwork, followed by yoga poses emphasizing body-mind awareness, then end with a short meditation.

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Begins again in October in Santa Rosa and goes thru the following March. Sessions will happen once a month for three days with a longer session during Spring Break. Please see the training section for more information.

Our Center

Our beautiful Northern California meditation center, ~ Ananda Kamalalaya ~ as well as being our local Ashram, is the home of the Ananda Seva's Guru Kula Yoga Trainings and Ananda Seva's main office. Ananda Kamalalaya is located on a 3-acre hilltop of old oaks and beautiful gardens, situated between the the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. It is located about 1 hour north of San Francisco, 45 minutes from the majestic Sonoma Coast, and 30 minutes from Calistoga Hot Springs.
