Many people today consider women to be akin to men, that women are like men but underprivileged. But in fact women are different from men in many ways. They have their own unique capabilities and potentialities as women.

Now in the physical realm the differences between men and women are obvious. In the mental sphere they become more obscure and in the spiritual realm they do not exist. Women have great capabilities and potentialities.

They are in no way the weaker sex, but the special characteristic and influences which mark the path for one in a female body must be acknowledged and utilized for maximum realization of one's innate potential.

For a woman, the spiritual life has certain aspects that are unique to her feminine characteristic. If she utilizes these aspects she may enhance her knowledge of self and make the journey toward self-realization more complete.

That is why in the ancient Tantras the feminine and masculine principles were taken into account. For women the mystery of knowing the Self has certain avenues, spiritual practices and emphasis that differs from those of men.

So it can be said that there is just cause for exploration into the realm of feminine mysticism or the spiritual journey as it relates to women. To this end are given discourses on feminine mysticism and the special qualities and characteristics of women.

Each and every person is an expression of the Divine. Each is unique but within this uniqueness there are certain commonalties that may be addressed for the enrichment of the particular group. Thus these discourse on the spiritual journey and characteristics of women are given.
