Principles of Feminine Mysticism

January 24,1993

Ba'ba', can you continue your discourse on Feminine Mysticism ?

I want to speak  on this topic. As I have said, it is a vast  topic. There are so many aspects to this topic, but most importantly it is the approach of spirituality best suited to feminine characteristics. This approach has several fundamental principles.

The first principle is that a woman should utilize her basic characteristic, psycho-physical aspects in such a way that advancement towards the Supreme Nucleus is enhanced.

The second principle is that she must utilize her  innate ability, her innate strengths to propel herself forward on the path of Dharma. She should not deny her attributes, suppress her instincts or attempt to become something unnatural to her disposition.Instead, she should utilize the strength, the characteristics of her feminine incarnation to move herself forward.

Now, how to do this? It is done first by recognizing and accepting her feminine nature and then by carefully scrutinizing herself to determine her particular tendencies and her assets. This self-evaluation is an important step in understanding the nature of ones spiritual base. Now, once this is done, she may find that her path is unique and does not entirely follow the externalized forms given in this time of patriarchy.

She may find her needs, her energies and her internal qualities are slightly  different.  She should seek the companionship of women in this spiritual quest.  The feminine is receptive. It is the expression of Shakti.  The feminine is also life giving. So when this feminine principle is contacted, these elements come forward. For a woman the realization  of the feminine is an important aspect of self-realization. That is not to say

that the pure undifferentiated awareness embodied in the symbolic aspects of Shiva is beyond a woman. There are those who have thought this, but they are incorrect. The feminine principle realized by a being incarnate in a female structure is the consort of that Supreme Consciousness. She is His expressive nature, His vehicle for manifestation from which all of His multifarious colors are born.  She is His emanation.  He is Her source. One manifesting this feminine principle, automatically realizes her consort.  They are one and indivisible, like two sides of a paper.  They cannot be separated.  To realize, to become the one,  is to automatically becomes the other.  Within the heart of Prakrti is Purusa, within the mind of Purusa is  Prakrti.   Like this, they are inseparably joined.  If a woman realizes her feminine aspects in full, she will find herself immersed in the love of Parama Purusa.

So, be as Parvati to Shiva, be the very embodiment of that great feminine principle, and you will find that you have chosen a true road.

There is a third principle which is involved in the development of psycho-spiritual progress for women. That is, a woman cannot suppress her femininity. She should not adopt masculinity or any inferiority complex regarding her feminine birth. It is as rich, as great at birth as that of masculine expression. So, all inferiority complex regarding this should be put aside. This is a great struggle in present society due to the oppressive conditions under which the majority of women are living. So, women must struggle to believe in themselves and not accept  oppression or inferiority.

It is a great struggle at this time. The battle  for Dharma is being waged in the hearts and minds of women. They must win this battle if this society will become great, oh, my daughters.

     This is sufficient."
