Therefore the welfare of all creatures must be taken into consideration. No living being should be mistreated or exploited. All living creatures exist together in an interwoven network of life. Each has its place in this network and its sphere of expression. In Neo-humanism the Dharma, or realm of expression of all living beings, not merely human beings, is considered to be of value. Thus the welfare of all becomes the responsibility of neo-humanists.
In this new form of humanism, maintenance of the balance of life and the welfare of living beings is of utmost importance. Human beings, like all creatures, must also be given scope for the realization of their potentials. None should be oppressed or diminished. For a neo-humanist, the welfare of all beings is the cornerstone of actions in the world. All living beings are treated with respect and afforded dignity.
The actions of a neo-humanist will serve to foster the well-being and dignity of all creatures great and small. Thus, a neo-humanist is one who manifests this reverence for all life, and works to see that all living beings are given scope to realize their full potential and fulfill their innate dharma or purpose.
The foundation of neo-humanism is the concept that all life is precious and all beings are important in the web of life.
