Learn Traditional Yogic Meditation
Tantra, Kundalini, Chakras
Ananda Seva is a traditional path with its roots deep in the ancient practices of yoga. Our system of Ananda Seva Sahaja meditation is based in the traditions of classical Tantra and the Asthanga yoga of Patanjali.
We teach individualized yogic meditation practices, given one on one by a trained meditation teacher called an Acharya. When one sits with an Acharya a transmission or empowerment is given, called Diiksha, and the practices passed to the student, awakening the flame of Divinity within. Through regular practice of meditation that flame is fanned and grows to be a bright light which illumines the mind and dispels the darkness of ignorance, giving rise to knowledge of the true Self.
The Ananda Seva system of Sahaja Yoga meditation practices has six lessons which are given by the acharya over time as the student is ready. These practices, along with asanas, include the eight limbs of Astanga yoga. As one moves through the lessons one receives practices to help purify the charkas and breath to allow the smooth rise of the kundalini energies.
If you are interested in learning yogic meditation please see our listing of Acharyas to find someone close to you to study with. If you are not near an Acharya another option is to attend a retreat, where an acharya will be present from whom you can learn.
Our Guru, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, has stated that meditation is the birthright of every living being and should be as free as sunlight, air and water. Therefore our Acharyas offer their teaching in the spirit of service, free to all.
