1.4.6 importance of service,
1.4.8 spir. on practice
Once long ago, there was a certain man who lived high in the Himalayan peaks. He was a great yogi. He enjoyed so many blissful sadhanas. He liked to hear the sound of the eagles flying across the peaks and ridges of those high mountains. He enjoyed the cool breeze and the starry night. He never desired more than this.
So, he lived a long and simple life among the mountains. He was a man of God. But do you know, this very man, has not attained liberation? Do you know why? There is one reason. For all his fine sadhana, for the simplicity of his life, still he did not do one thing. He did not give what he had received to others. You see, God is not to be kept for oneself, to be hidden like a treasure in a secret box. That divinity is for all. It is the birthright of every living being.
So, although this man was a great yogi, a wise and noble person, still he did not do this one task. He did not give what had been given to him. So you know, for this one reason alone, this man again took birth. And he became the son of a humble farmer, and in that life he fulfilled this final task.
To know divinity, one must do sadhana. One must gain the grace of the Supreme. One must immerse the entire self in the color, in the hue of Divine Love, one hundred percent. Then, that love must be given to all freely. It is not yours to keep but to give openly without reserve.
So spread your palms wide and give to all that which has been given to you and then surely, you will attain your treasured goal in this very lifetime. You will find that what you have given has not left you empty handed but has come back to you one hundred fold. If you want the grace of Guru in your life, serve others, love others, and surely that grace will grow stronger and will bloom within you like the lotus flower. So do not worry about appearances. Be happy, and enjoy the shower of love which your Supreme Father is ever giving unto you. I am finished.
