I will speak about commitment.
You know, in order to do any great work, a person must be committed to that work. No great work can be done without firm commitment. If you undertake a project and you are not committed to that work, you will find that very soon you have left off in your work and you have gotten nowhere. And unless there is a firm commitment from the start, no good work shall be completed. For a sadhaka to do good work, they need to cultivate this quality of firm determination. Otherwise, they will not be able to make any significant contribution of any magnitude to the collective welfare.
Now if a person has commitment, but does not have a direction, again a problem arises. If there is no Is't'ha and no Adarsha, no ideal and ideology, that person will not know what to do with their commitment and they will give it to something unworthy. So if a person would know Parama Purusha and would serve the living beings they must be able to commit themselves to the task at hand with firm determination. They cannot say: Oh, today I am determined, but tomorrow is another day and I think tomorrow I want to go to the beach. It is not like this. Once you have committed your intent, let nothing sway you, be firm in your determination and walk forward towards your Is't'ha on the path of Dharma. Never let yourself be swayed, do not give in to personal weakness. Once you have set yourself on a course, you must carry it through to your final destination. This is the way of a noble human being. It is the key to worldly success. If it is directed for Parama Purusha, if the end is to bring the love of that Supreme to living beings, if it is to serve humanity, if it is to create cohesion amongst people, then surely that commitment will bear fruit and that work will not go awry.
When you make a commitment, make it
for Dharma, make it for Guru and follow through. Live your life
as an example of Supreme Blessedness, live your life with nobility
and honor. Make your thought, your word and your deed one and
the same. So when you think about undertaking a task, you set
yourself with a firm determination and if it is for Guru, do not
waver, regardless of circumstance. Walk forward, I will be always
with you, in every good deed, in every brave action, in every
noble word, I will ever be with you serving humanity. I will ever
be with you in the depths of your heart. So walk forward without
fear, without doubt, trusting Guru, place your welfare in the
hands of your Supreme Father. Make your commitment from the very
core of your heart, out of love. Put fear aside, take the hand
of Guru in your life, take the love of Guru in your heart and
the wisdom of Guru in your mind, and walk forward, oh Sadhaka,
without fear.
