Preconditions for Sadvipra Samaj

Q: What are the general preconditions which must exist in society for the establishment of sadvipra rule?

Sadvipra rule may only come when the consciousness of the entire society is advanced to the point where there is great appreciation and admiration for spirituality, where love between human beings is valued above material gain. So the fundamental precondition for sadvipra rule is a high level of morality and spiritual values in the society. As long as the society is ruled by desire for material gain, as long as the greed of individuals dominates, the values will not be placed on spiritual personage or on more noble values, and so the desire to have those of noble value in rule will be less than the desire to have those who will achieve lesser goals. Also, for sadvipran rule to occur, there must be the emergence of individuals who are developed in all three spheres, who are developed in the physical, mental, psychic and spiritual spheres, who have all around development, who are multi-cultural and multinational - universal individuals who are renaissance men and women but who incorporate spirituality. These people must have keen minds, lack small mindedness and prejudice, and be completely fair in their approach to human beings.

When such individuals have arisen out of the fertile ground of a rich society, established in its dharma, and at the same time the overall values held by the society are such that there is the desire to have enlightened leadership, then the combination is right for the establishment of a sadvipran rule. But this condition cannot exist unless there is a sincere desire on the part of the majority of the people to have unity, to have compassion, to have fairness and wholeness in government. If the people want something other than that, then it is very difficult to have a sadvipran rule. So this type of rule will occur when the people have advanced to a somewhat more advanced position than now exists.

You know, many changes will happen in the future. There will be changes in the physical landscape and even in the physiology of the human beings. And there will also be psychic changes and spiritual changes and the values of the human society will shift. When this occurs, there will be scope for enlightened leadership. There will come a time when war will not touch the surface of this planet and respect for all life, neohumanistic values, will be the going approach. It will be seen as a criminal act to go against the laws of nature and to harm living beings, even those who are not human. This will be seen by the people as a criminal act. Such will be the sacredness of the harmony of this planet, of the universe. On this planet, the ecological order will become valued as sacred, and anyone who disrupts it will be considered a criminal. What is criminal in that society will not be the same as in this society, because the people will be more refined and some of the cruder issues will become resolved. What is criminal, what is considered against the society, will be different. If one destroys the habitat of the creatures, if one interferes with the laws of nature and the ecological balance, it will be considered a criminal act and antisocial behavior which will be punished.

So the values of these people will be much in consensus. They will not allow these types of things. They will value compassion and tolerance among all the different peoples, races and creatures of the world, and, in such a society with such values, there is scope for the rise of those people who are spiritual leaders, who are not simply religious leaders. By spiritual leaders, I do not mean religious leaders. I do not mean that the society will be run by the church, by any religion, but by those people who are spiritually developed and who, at the same time, have skill and development in all spheres. Such people will rise to leadership because such a society will give high regard to such people. They will hold people who have spiritual vision and who maintain the harmony of nature in very high regard. So those people will naturally rise to the front as the capitalist giants of today and the movie stars rise to the front in the present.

So, in that time, those people who are very sentient and who stand for nobility and for harmony, who stand for neohumanism, they will rise to the front. They will be very highly regarded, so it will be natural to put them in positions of leadership. But it is because they reflect the values of the society. The time will come for this and it will not be a passing fad. It will last for 1000 years.
