Economic Democracy

Q: Should economic democracy be understood as economic decentralization combined with sadvipra dictatorship? Or can it also be understood that economic decentralization is a necessary precondition for democracy in the pre-sadvipra dictatorship phase?

You know, those who are moralists should seek office in the democratic process. When there is economic democracy, the moralists of the world will make efforts to gain political power through a centralized democratic system, but the economy will be localized. Now this will influence the process of democracy a great deal. You see, it is correct to say that in large national and international corporate economic development, the influence of these economic giants on the democratic system becomes so burdensome that the democracy may be lost altogether and become simply a rubber stamp for the economic giants who control all of the interests and workings of the society.

These multinational corporations, these economic giants, are demons in disguise. They gain such power through their economic stance that the democratic system will eventually crumble beneath their weight if they are allowed to continue. They will become simply paper democracies. These economic giants will rule world wide. And will they rule for the welfare of people? Or will the people become the slaves of these economic giants, helpless without any political power whatsoever? Because all political power will be controlled by these giants, if someone attempts to take a democratic position and to do something against these economic giants, they will be destroyed. No one can stop them. Such is their power, if they are allowed to have it. They will make a world government, but that world government will be nothing but a rubber stamp for their power. And no one and nothing will have a say. But there are forces that battle this disastrous situation.

So you see, as this planet moves towards a world federation, it is very important that these multinational corporations do not reach their goal. They will thrust to take the power in every realm, and they must be fought like demons.

What is the alternative to give to the people? Localized economic control. That is the alternative to multinational corporate control. If there is local economic control, then democracy may continue as a healthy form of government. It will not be a rubber stamp. Each local area will have a vested interest in their political leader, but the other areas will not have vested interests in that leader. They will have vested interests in their own leader. So these leaders may come together as the democratic representatives, and it must be moralists who fight for these political solutions. Then they will come together, and they will be democratically associated to make decisions in a confederation.

This is the optimum system, and it will avoid the kind of undermining of the democratic system which will come with the development of large, multinational corporate interests. People must be given an alternative lest they have no hope whatsoever against this development of the modern era. This economic democracy must be established as soon as possible. Every effort must be made that this concept be propagated in all circles. It must be propagated so that it resides in the minds of the people. Those multinational corporations will revile it, they will find it poisonous. But the people themselves will think ************ even the politician will like it very much, because they see that they are being taken over by these large economic forces.

So you go to the presidents, the ministers, the cabinet members, the senators, worldwide, and you propagate this economic democracy, and I think you will find that it will be very warmly received. It is an idea whose time has come, and it will catch on with the people. This can be a very practical Proutist project. You know, cheap literature can be made, fliers, handouts, simple booklets, explanations of these concepts, and given to all political leaders worldwide. They can be given to all peoples in various spheres. But do not expect those multinational capitalists to take a liking to it. You will be surprised how many there will be who will like it, because they do not like the concept of multinationals. The concept of local control will appeal to them. So you propagate this please, this economic democracy. It is a concept whose time has come.
