Transmigration of Soul

November 1, 1996

Tonight I will speak upon the subject of transmigration of the soul. Do you know at the time of departure from the physical body, what occurs, what is the condition of the mind and the spiritual essence at the time of departure from the physical body? There are several things that may occur. First of all, the human being when leaving the physical body may decide that they are predisposed to one attraction or another, depending upon what is the dominant thought in the mind of the person. And being attracted to this dominant samskara, they will fall in a kind of slumber, where the mind is suspended from interaction in the material universe and is instead absorbed in a kind of sleep in which it dreams. In this state depending upon those things which are in the mind of a person, will get expression in the mental plate of the human being. But they will find no expression in the physical world because the person is without a physical vehicle, there is no brain, no nervous system, no way in which the dreams of the mind may take expression in the outer world. So the person enters a kind of dreaming state and they will produce images from the samskaras, the underlying reactions of the mind. And in this state they will dream so many dreams, fulfill so many wishes, but it will all be internal within the mind. So at the time that the human being leaves the physical body, they may enter into such a realm of dreaming and according to the directions in which the mind has been focused, the dreams will focus accordingly. And they will dream until such a time when there is again a physical vehicle, has suitable vibratory rate, suitable situation to manifest this mental flow. At that time the mind will be drawn from this internal expression to association with a physical body which has the potentiality to manifest that internal expression and then the human being will take physical form and again this internal play of the mind will get expressed in the physical world.

So like this a mind will go from life to life. Now there comes a time, when the human being has developed a greater sense of self, a greater sense of their conscious development and at the time of departure from the physical body, such a being will not fall into this state of psychic slumber, when the physical vehicle is withdrawn, the mind will remain fully awake, fully conscious, not dominated by the flow of samskaras but instead dominated by the self-aware consciousness. Such a being may choose to manifest their expression in the subtle psychic realm, taking upon themselves the body composed of Microvita or the life force. In such a body, a subtle psychic body they may choose to manifest their expression in subtle realms. And then there are those beings whose identification with the Supreme Cognitive expression is so complete that when they depart from the physical world, they neither sleep nor do they take upon themselves a subtle body, but they become immersed in the Supreme Cognitive flow of the Supreme Entity, remaining fully conscious. They find that at the time of death all of the remaining samskaras of the mind, the remaining reactions of the mind become absorbed into pure undifferentiated awareness and such beings find that they are able to dissolve their finite identifications into the infinite cognitive flow and thus attain this final liberation, the goal of all manifest expression.

So you see what happens to a human being at the time of departure from this physical world is dependent what they have done in their life time and how much they have pursued the awareness of self. Those who are fully aware they will find no need to fetter themselves with physical existence again. For they will find their consciousness is one with the Supreme Cognitive flow and need not suffer the bondages of pleasure and pain.

Are there any questions tonight?
