There are infinite manifestations of the Supreme. Within the manifest world there are so many different types of living beings, each and everyone expressing an aspect of divinity. Each one of those living beings is like a cell in the body of Parama Purusha. Each one of those living beings is a part of Him. They may think they have their own life and they are perhaps even feeling that they are alone in the world. But each and every living being is a part of the body of Parama Purusha, each and every animate and inanimate object is a part of His living presence in this manifest world. So you also, are a part of Him. You are not separate, you are not alone, you are a part of the Great infinite consciousness which is the base of all creation. That most beloved entity, pure, pristine, beyond duality, is the fundamental basis of your existence. And you and every living being are intimately connected to each other. None are alone and separate leading a life apart. It may feel that way, but the reality is that every living being is connected to every other living being and what you do and what happens to you is very much a part what happens to others. For life builds upon life and the story of your life is a part and parcel of the story of creation.
And what you do, what you become and what you contribute to this collective story will make a difference in the outcome. No one is insignificant, no one is unimportant, what you are, what you feel, what you stand for, makes a difference. For each and every living being makes a contribution to the whole, for you are a manifestation of the Great and in your essence, in your fundamental composition you are no different than any other. Your fundamental composition is the same. And in the delightful play of creation you express your own contribution, you paint the glorious picture of your life. For your own growth and development towards the Great and for the growth and development of the whole you make the contribution of your existence. Each is an aspect, a particle, a part of a whole which is the collective sum of all creation and that whole constitutes the mind of Parama Purusha and His manifest expression as regulated by Prakrti. You are but a part of that collective sum and your existence is a contribution to the whole of creation. You are an intrical part of that great web of manifestation which exists within the cosmic mind. Your existence is a part and parcel of that cosmic existence. You are not separate from divinity. That divinity lies within you, every cell of your body is composed of it, every thought in your mind exists only because of it. And the love in your heart is very close, very similar to the pure. pristine love which is the fundamental expression of the Supreme. That fundamental expression which the divine emanates through all of the creation, the glue which holds the whole picture in place is called love.
In human experience it is known as love. That is the glue which holds the whole of creation in its place. It is the attractive force which the cosmic entity is emanating throughout the entire creation, drawing all unto Him so that all are circling around, circling around the pivotal point, the cosmic nucleus, all are dancing around and around drawn by the emanations of His infinite love. They are consciously or unconsciously being pulled unto Him, closer and closer. Consciously or unconsciously that cosmic pull is exerting on each and every atom, each and every particle of this manifest universe and then all the living beings who have come to exist within the created universe, that magnetic pull is drawing on you, pulling you to Him. There is a longing deep within each and every living being to come closer to the whole, to feel your unity with all of the life, to break the bonds of separation and isolation and to throw aside the chains of limitation and definition and to know the infinite love, the beautitude which lies within.
There is a fundamental longing in each and every living being from the small frog on the lily pond to the greatest scholar, each and everyone deep within them feels this pull drawing on them, calling to them, pulling them, pulling them, closer and closer to their infinite source. And so for the small frog sitting on the lily pond it feels the restlessness stirring in him and perhaps he thinks if he sits in the sunshine it will all be as it should. But what is the longing for the sunshine? It is the longing for the infinite warmth which is given by the Great in the union of all life. And so the little frog sits in the sunshine and when the sun touches his skin he feels a kind of warm glow and in that warm glow he gets a touch, a glimpse of Parama Purusha and he experiences that warmth and happiness and he likes it very much, though it may last only a moment. And for the great scholar, he studies his books and lives in the world of ideas, but all along deep in him there is a restlessness, a restlessness to move beyond the boundaries of his knowledge, of his existence, to something more and greater than himself. And in that restlessness he will stir a kind of yearning and the ideas that he engages in, thinking, reading about, he will come to a point where a particular notion expands his awareness beyond all that he has previously known and in that moment of expansion, in that moment of joy when he realizes that his horizons are opening, in that moment he touches Parama Purusha and he knows the joy of fulfillment just for a moment. And then again the restless mind begins to move, but in that moment he has touched the Great. And the little frog that the sun touches his skin and he feels the glow of warmth within him, in that moment the little frog touches the Great. Like this, each and every living being touches the Great and the Great touches you and as you continue your life, the longing to experience again and again that sweet touch, to know the Great within your heart, within yourself, within the core of your being and to hold to that, is lying within the core of your existence.
Now the matter of most importance
is how you go about achieving that unity, that touch, how to expand
it in your life. There are those who seek it in ways that are
very ineffective, because the moment the desire is fulfilled there
may be the moment of happiness but again only restlessness will
come. So when it is sought in the material objects the fulfillment
can only be very temporary because though those material objects
in fact are a part of Parama Purusha, and so they emanate some
of His love, some of His light and so a moment joy, a moment of
that expansion may be gotten, but ultimately it will lead to suffering.
But if instead of manifestation of expression of Parama Purusha
you will seek your joy directly in Him, directly in the Great
consciousness which lies within you, then you will find the capacity
to come in contact with Him in such a way that that contact is
lasting. It grows and grows within you, from a fleeting moment
to perhaps a few moments, to a few minutes, an hour, a day, a
week, and the time comes when that contact is continual, for you
come to know the self within the Self, that which is pure, that
which is real, that which is untainted by worldly existence. You
come to rest in the peace of the Self, where all desires fade
and only happiness, eternal happiness exists. This is the fundamental
birthright and desire of all living beings. Follow your inward
heart and open the door within.
