1.1.1 FNS

There are those who though they are given great blessings are unreceptive, ungrateful for what they received. And there are those who given even the slightest crumb will be very grateful. They will feel, how fortunate I am that I have received this blessing. So you see there are those whose lives are filled with great blessings from God, but who feel that they have nothing and there are those who are truly poor, yet even given the smallest grain of sand, just a grain of rice, they will feel that they have been bestowed great blessing, they will feel they are most fortunate. So one may be as wealthy as the prince or a princess and still feel impoverished or one may be as poor as the poorest beggar and feel wealthy. The feeling in the mind is not dictated by the external environment. It is dictated by the mental approach that is taken by the individual. So some people may think they are blessed by God, though they have very little and others who have so much may feel restless and unhappy and as they have not been given a sufficient amount. So if you want to be happy, if you want to make the best of your life, it is best to take the approach of the person who feels that whatever they have, be it great or be it ever so humble, it is the blessing of God and they are most fortunate, you are most fortunate for what you have. So you see, it is better to feel that you are fortunate than to feel you are
deprived.

Now either feeling might be there, be you rich or be you poor, be you filling out with opportunities or be you lacking in direction. Either way you may feel either experience. So if you cultivate positive outlook, if you cultivate an approach which is appreciative of all that you are given, of each and everything that you have in your life, you will be a happy person. So whatever you have, be it ever so humble, do not compare with another who has so much and say: 'Look, look, I am impoverished'. No, no, this is not a proper approach. Best approach is to say: "Look, Lord is so fond of me, Lord has blessed me with all these things in my life and I am very fortunate to have His blessing upon me. So even the simple things become the blessing of God, for in fact, they are the blessing of God and it is only the demise of mind that cannot perceive what you are given. It is best to feel whatever you have is Grace and to feel grateful and to feel whatever you have you most fortunate. You are a most fortunate person and you are cared for by your Divine father and so you are given Grace in your life. And in so many ways, that Divine beings is supporting you, like your experience, your development, even in your pain, even in your difficulty you are being supported. When a child makes mistake, they get result and from those results they know that is not a proper road and they will pursue then a different road which will be more effective. So even in those ways in which you are prevented from going forward in one direction, it may be the blessing, the Grace of Parama Purusha so that you may go in another direction which will lead you where you must go. For He looks at your heart and seeing your heart he will help you to go where you must go to become all that you can be. So do not be unhappy with your life, do not be sad with your existence for your future is bright and the Divine being looks over you with great love and affection.

Valerie: Baba, I have sort of like a comment. You were talking about rich and poor, but there is one thing that is even more important that you were saying later that I agree with. Whether you have a lot of money, that is not the only important thing that can make some people including me feel like being insidious when there is no fulfillment. I can have a lot of money and feel secure, but fulfillment in love, just knowing of doing something good and just doing something important in my life is more important than that. And I think that's more blessing than any money can bring to anybody.

That is correct. But not only is it what you do but how you approach what you do. So if you take the view that what is given to you is blessing, you will find that your life is filled with small blessings throughout and that you have much potentiality within you that will evolve forward as time goes on. Never be disheartened, never allow yourself to be discouraged, nor that you are guided. The same force that guides the stars guides you also and that which you long for in your heart will be fulfilled.
