Contact With the Divine

July 28, 1995

There are those who due to of their sincere desires, due to of their sadhana come to a point in their development that the Supreme Being, the infinite is very accessible to them. They learn through their intuitional insight to have a close contact with the Supreme Entity. Those people who through intuitional insight get a glimpse of the divine being are most fortunate. For to even glimpse that Supreme Entity for just a moment is a great blessing in a human life. For in that glimpse, in that glance there is the shower of grace of the divine. And from that shower of grace, many, many benefits emerge in the life of a human being. So never discount those moments in which you feel a small contact with the infinite, for those are sacred moments, those are special moments which will bring you closer and closer, which will benefit you in all ways. The infinite being is ever with you, he is omnipresent, omnidirectional, he is omniscient, omniscience. He exists here and now, he existed long before this universe sprung into existence and he will exist when all of this known universe has faded from you. So that entity is not only omnipresent, he is omnidirectional, he is in all directions, as far as the eye can see, as far as the mind can conceive. That infinite entity has no bounds and when you come in contact with that being, you will find that your whole world has changed, that there is a no significance to your life, a new movement to your existence. So even the smallest contact with that infinite being will bring you many, many benefits. And so if through your intuitional insights, you get some glimpse of him, then you can be assure it is a blessing form God. For that divinity is the and all of human existence. Divinity is the culminating point of humanity. When your humanity is fully realized, you will discover that you are divine, that your fundamental nature is divine. So divinity is the culminating point of

your humanity.

To come in contact with the divine is to live a truly human life. To dedicate yourself to know him, to experience him, the divine, is to lead a human life. To be a true human being, to learn to feel life which is infinite, which has no boundaries, no beginning and no end, in which all creatures abide, both great and small, in which there is no distinction between the little and the great. Love which cares for all beings, in that love you will find shelter that is lasting, that is permanent. So go forward towards the infinite and use your intuitional insight to gain a small glimpse of the Supreme.

Is there any question?

Q: I have a question. You said a few weeks ago that when one's meditating, one should concentrate one's mind and shoot it forward into the infinite and I am wondering, you also said that women should surrender rather than try to make their minds big like the universe. So what is good ideation which will incorporate those concepts?

It is a very good question. You know, when the arrow is shot on the bow, the force of the mind is single pointed, it is directed, it is focused and concentrated and then all of the senses are narrowed to the single point and then the arrow is shot. When this happens, then it can be effectively shot to the target. In the same way, when one is meditating, one must bring all of one's concentration, all of one's focus of attention to a single point and through the single pointed ideation upon the Supreme one will shoot the mind towards the goal. One will have the impetus, the focus and the concentration to shoot the mind towards the divine, so that the glimpse may be had. But what gives the impetus, the most giver power to actually bring the string back and release it, what is that force? That force is devotion, that which has sufficient force to propel the mind forward. So you must have concentration. That is a fundamental building block to concentrate the mind upon the divine, to focus one's attention, one's field of interest unto the divine and the launching part for that experience is devotion. And what happens when the arrow is shot is not that you are using force, but through the expression of devotion, the mind is propelled towards the divine, the mind is . . . into love. So it is essential to concentrate the mind, to make it single pointed, but it is also essential to gain the impetus of devotion, of love. What happens when these two forces come together, they are very potent forces when they are combined. When there is sincerity in one's attention, in one's desire and there is love to propel that sincerity, to feed it, to motivate and there is single pointed concentration then there is a powerful force directed towards the Supreme. But what happens to that force, it causes the mind, all the preconceptions, all the beliefs, all the notions in the mind, all the thoughts, all of the tendencies of the mind get surrendered into the infinite flow of divine love. So it is not to puff and go and think, I am so great, but to take the mind and dissolve into the wave of the infinite. Open the heart, expand the heart, it is the simplest path, it is the clearest path, it is the cleanest path to God. And for women it is most suited.
