Human life

July 27,1996

Retreat

This human life is an ideological flow. Flow of the Supreme in the human beings, it is the dance of the divine creator manifesting in all of the living beings. To be a human being means to recognize your association with that divinity, to realize that you are but a spark of the great flame of universal love, the great expression of consciousness manifesting in this entire cosmological flow. You are none other but the sons and daughters of that great entity, of that Supreme cognitive being , the one expression which is manifesting in all of the small consciousnesses or awarenesses within this creation. All separation from Him is only the deception of the mind. You experience separateness, you experience individuality because you associate with your physical structure with your mental structure. You think, I am this body, I am this mind, I am these feeling I am having and you forget that though you are indeed experiencing the experience of the human body, the experience of a human mind, the experience of conscious awareness within that structure, you are far more, you are all of that, but you are more, you are much more. You are that Supreme cognitive entity, that Supreme Purusha, manifesting in all the colors and forms of this creation. You have no separate identity from Him. Any separate identity is an utter deception of the mind. It is illusionary. He is manifesting in you and in all that surrounds you. There is nothing outside of His sphere. So one cannot say, I and my Lord are apart. It cannot be said with accuracy. Because Lord is always with you, in your own existence He exists. In all the ebings, all the creatures, in the trees in the forest, in the deer in the field, He is manifesting His expression.

In your human existence He is manifesting His expression and why is He doing this? Why is He manifesting all of these different forms? So that each and everyone of these individualized expressions of His awareness may come to remember their essential unity with Him and in that joy of reuniting, in that great happinness, He is fullfilled. So you see, the play of this creation is not one of sorrow, it is not one to cry about, even in its most painful forms, its most dreadful forms, still beneath that dread, beneath that dread pain, there is the flow of His consciousness coming into awareness of itself. And each and everyone of you is a part of this ideological flow of the Supreme cognitive entity.

Now, one may say that a human being, a human life may be squandered and that there are those people who know how to .......incungrate thing and ....relation. And who are denied the opportunity to experience the blessedness, the child which lies within them. So it is the bounden duty of every human bieng who has the capacity to do what they can to help others, in the physical plane, in the psychic plane and in the spiritual plane. So that they also might have the opportunity to know the Supreme, so that they may also might have opportunity to unveil their eyes from the misery of absorption in the world, in pain and suffering, that they might come to know that there is something sweet, very sweet, very beautiful, at the core of their own being , that they might have the opportunity to realize this. But it is very hard for a human being who is without the basic necessities, who lives in the ghetto and suffers needlessly in pain and anger, in anguish, it is very hard for them to know the sweetness of their own being. Therefore, as a sadhaka, as one who has recognized the Supreme delight, the Supreme love which lies within, the sweetness and tenderness of the human heart. It is your bounden duty to do what you can, be it in small ways or in great, it does not matter. But to do what you can, to serve your fellow beings, to assist them that they might have the opportunity to know the Great. This is a part and parcel of sadhana to serve others and to follow Yama and Niyama. In this way following Yama and Niyama, practicing kindness and comapassion to your fellow being, you lead the life of a true human being and you learn to experience the compassion of your divine progenitor and His love, Her love for all living beings. It becomes a part of you, because it is inherent in your own nature whether you know it or not, the qualities of the Supreme entity are inherent in your own human nature. You must only wipe the dirt from your mind and the clouds from your eyes and you will see celarly this is your own nature. So be great through your service to others, your love for living beings and your devotion to that divinity which lies quiescent within you and within all beings. So when it is said that human life is an ideological flow, it is the flow of this Supreme consciousness, this cognition through your being and in your association with the Great you become like that with which you associate. So what better company you can keep!  Now there is one other topic I wish to discuss today.

I have said that human life is ideological, must be ideological, must be ideological, must be a reflection and an expression of the love for the Supreme and for all of His progenee in this manifest world. But how to do? How to bring the human beings to the path of blessedness, how to render service to living beings, how to express, manifest the sweetness which lies within you, in this world, to bring it to others. For this purpose there must be unity with your brothers and sisters, so that you may assist each other, not only in your personal spiritual development but in your service to the living beings, that you might have maximum opportunity to bring the living beings to the path of blessedness, so tthey may recognize within themselves, the capacity, the potentiality of their human existence. This is your dharma. And you must assist each other to fulfill. You cannot fulfill alone. You must find strength in your unity and build upon that unity to sow the seeds of love in the human society.
