One-Pointed Attraction to the Great

July 2, 1993

You know, there are so many tendencies in the human mind. But among these tendencies there is one tendency that is particularly useful to a human being. That tendency is to be attracted towards the Great. It is the tendency of the little to be drawn to the Great. It is a most useful tendency within a human being. So if you want to do something, something great, you follow this tendency in all of your endeavors. You become one pointed in what you are doing. Be single minded. Don't look this way and that way, think 'Oh maybe I should go to town to get a newspaper, to watch a movie, but then again perhaps I will do Sadhana. But, maybe I will sit down and take a nap'. No, no, the mind should not be like this. The mind should be one pointed, directed towards a single goal, a single direction. Then everything that is done, every action, every footstep, every breath that is taken has a purpose. It becomes an expression of that forward movement towards that Divinity. When this happens, right action is guaranteed. So direct yourself, align yourself, with this attractive momentum. And you will find that you are doing work that will benefit society, benefit your family, and benefit yourself. But you must stay aligned. Make every moment an expression of that alignment. Then you will find, that this is a very good life. It is a great opportunity to become great yourself. So take this opportunity and live the life of a human being.
