The Role of Microvita, Energy, and Kundalini

in Evolutionary Development

July 30, 1995

Today, I will speak about microvita. I have explained that, in the introversial phase of development, microvitum, the tiny particles, become the medium upon which the mind substance is built. Microvitum is the medium for unit mind. Parama Purus'a is the medium for Cosmic Mind in the extroversial phase. In the introversial phase, Parama Purus'a will utilize microvitum for His direct cosmic expression as well as for unit mind. So, in the introversial phase, these tiny particles, this life substance becomes the medium for mind, both individual and cosmic mental expressions. But in the extroversial phase, Parama Purus'a, Himself, is the medium for the Cosmic Mind and the development of the five fundamental factors.

Now, what is the medium for microvitum? Parama Purus'a himself is the medium for microvitum. You see, this life force is not to be diminished in its significance. It plays a very significant role in the development of living beings and their return to the cosmic desideratum. It is manifest due to the calling of Parama Purus'a. The introversial pull, the magnetic pull of consciousness upon creation is the primal cause of the development of life, of sentience. So this tug, this magnetic attraction, which is emanated from the Cosmic Nucleus, causes the life force to come into existence. And then, it causes the development of mind and the pull of mind along the evolutionary track to greater and greater capacities until mind grows in magnitude to be a mirror image, a reflection of the Cosmic Mind, of the Divine Progenitor. Then, due to this mental development, consciousness will be enhanced and all will move towards the Cosmic Nucleus.

Thus, due to the inherent attracting quality of Parama Purus'a, the introversial phase of evolution goes forward to ever-increasing degrees of sentience and subtlety until consciousness is so developed that cognition of the Cosmic Entity may occur. And unit mind, having all the qualities and characteristics of Cosmic Mind, then merges itself back into the Cosmic Mind. And the unit consciousness, having full cognitive capacity, becomes self-aware. Knowing the Self, the origin of all, the atman automatically unifies with the Paramatman, the supreme knower of all. Thus consciousness returns to the nucleus of all creation, Purusottama, the Cosmic Nucleus, the quiescent consciousness.

This is the introversial phase of evolution, and in this introversial phase, microvitum is very significant. These are the particles or waves upon which the mind and matter are dependent in the introversial phase, for they constitute the capacity for life, the capacity for movement of ideas. There are three types of microvitum, those which are more physical, those which are more psychic - they have psycho-physical expression - and those which are purely subtle. The last two types cannot be seen with the microscope, but the first type may be seen. Ideas move in this medium, thoughts move in this medium. This is the medium of living substance.

The qualities and characteristics of energy differ when it is life force energy than when it is physical energy from the five fundamental factors. Each has energy, kula kun'd'alinii has energy, shakti. But shakti and the explosion of an atomic bomb are not the same. Both have energy, both of these energies have mutative qualities. There is mutative dominance in both, but they are altogether different. And why is that? Because the mutative energy in the atomic bomb, in the heat that is released from the fire, in all manner of physical energies, is dominated by the mutative principle and the static principle, whereas in the introversial phase it is dominated by the mutative principle and the sattvic principle. It is dominated by the life force, by sentience. Sentience is dominant, mind is dominant, whereas physicality is dominant in these other types of energy. These two types of energy are dominated by the mutative principles, but they are correlated, one with tamas, or static, and the other with sentient force. So their qualities and characteristics differ: one is alive, the other is material.

The force of the kula kun'd'alinii is a mighty force, it moves mind. And it will move mind from the mere grabbing in the earth for survival of the physical body, from total association with the needs of physicality, to the very apex of evolution. This is the wonder of the mutative force. Kula kun'd'alinii, the upward moving serpent, the upward moving force, is moved by the cosmic pull. It is the upward moving force of development in the mental sphere and in the spiritual sphere.

So when this mutation occurs, what happens? Sentient principle gets stronger and stronger, sentience and consciousness become more and more dense so that physicality loses denseness, and static principle decreases and decreases. Consciousness grows in intensity as this mutative force of kun'd'alinii takes the living being from mind, matter association, through the introversial evolutionary process to mind, consciousness association, and then dissolves the individual mind into the Cosmic Mind and frees the consciousness into the Cosmic Nucleus. This mighty mutative force, this kula kun'd'alinii, moves mind, thus, to the Cosmic Nucleus. It increases the densification of consciousness through the enhancement of the sentient principle while freeing the bonds of the static principle - whereas what happens with the physical energy, the atomic bomb, or when the fire burns the wood is quite different.

The physical atom, the atomic bomb, and the atoms within the log that is burnt, are dominated by tamas or static principle, and so they are physical. When they are mutated by the powerful mutative forces that come into play in the fire, in the bomb, then the energy is released from the physical substance. But this method of release is not in the life force; it remains in the five fundamental factors. So what happens? It is released from the static force, but it is released into the physical universe. So there is no densification in consciousness. Raw energy, pure mutative force, becomes completely dominant. And then, when the mutative force is gotten under control, what controls it? It is tamas, the static force that brings it under control - not the sentient force. It is not life force. So it is brought under control by the static force and is again calmed down and becomes another substance within the five fundamental factors. Then, again, it will be bound deeper and deeper by tamas or the static principle until it becomes, again, material substance from which life force may be released, or which, as I have discussed previously, may go into this degeneration process of over densification.

So energy and life force and the kula kun'd'alinii, these are not the same. Now, life force and kula kun'd'alinii, they are very much the same. The microvitum is the medium in which the mind develops and ideas move. It is the kind of shadow atom around the atom which forms mental stuff. From it, citta, or the mental plate is developed, and, within it, it becomes the medium for the ideas to move about.

Now, when the mind, the simple mind, is associated with matter, with the physical body, it will run here and there trying to meet the needs of the physical body while the physical body has become quite complex to house the developed mind. They go hand in hand. But there comes a time when, due to the cosmic attraction, the pull upon the mind becomes so strong that it is pulled away from matter towards consciousness. This is the process of the raising of the kun'd'alinii from the fundamental involvement with material substance to the pure cosmic awareness. The media for this journey is still microvitum until mind is fully expanded. And when mind is lost in consciousness, even microvitum do not come into play. Even the most subtle microvitum becomes lost and Parama Purus'a is the only medium.

So, you see, this kula kun'd'alinii, this energy of transmutation of mind into consciousness that is stored in the basic primal existence, takes microvitum for its medium until the very final stage, when even microvitum are lost and mind also is lost. As long as there is mind, there will be life force. But when mind is no more, neither will there be living substance, nor will there even be sentient principle. Sentience will dissolve and consciousness will be complete within itself. The self will become self-resplendent, self-absorbed, complete, whole.

When matter is released through energy in the material universe, it will not make this journey. It will merely explode in the energetic movement of rajas, or mutative expression. Then it will be snatched again by the static principle to once again degenerate through the five fundamental factors.
