MICROVITA AND THE CYCLE OF CREATION

July 30, 1995

In this universe, there are so many different types of expressions. There are so many different creatures, so many different animate and inanimate objects. It is a multifarious and diverse expression. But it is not without order. Within this universe, there are certain operative principles, certain operational modalities which are in place and there is an order, a pattern to their expression.

Now, you know, Parama Purus'a or the cognitive entity is the underlying principle for all manifestation. He is the progenitor of this entire creation and within His subtle psychic sphere, the whole dance of manifestation is occurring. Therefore, it is accurate to say, He is the beginning and the end. He is the creator, the preserver, and the destroyer of worlds. Nothing is outside of Him. He is limitless, undefinable, without boundaries, omnipresent and omnipotent. Within Him, this entire universe has sprung into existence. Within Him, it has its expression and, when all is withdrawn again unto Him, He alone will exist, for He is eternal, limitless, and undefinable. If you want to know Him, you must look to the very core of your existence for there, that Entity, that Supreme Progenitor resides.

When Parama Purus'a is quiescent, when the cognitive faculty is withdrawn and the expressed universe is not manifest, He lies at the very center. He is the culminating point of all existence and the originating point of all creation. In this capacity, as the center point of all expression, He is known as Purusottama. Around Him, the three operative principles, Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, that is the sentient principle, mutative principle, and static principle, play out. When they are in complete balance, they form a perfect triangle and He is the center point of their expression. In this, He is Purusottama and these principles are held in quiescence, in perfect balance around Him, in the unmanifest state.

When these three principles get slightly out of balance, from the apex of the triangle comes a wave. That wave is the beginning of the created universe. So that indescribable and undefinable entity, Purusottama, begins to take manifestation through the interaction of the operative principle. Purus'a, or cognition becomes qualified by Prakriti, or the creative force. The perfect equipoise of the gunas, or fundamental operative principles, is disturbed and a wave is formed. At first, it is without distortion, a pure wave expressing the cosmic existence. Then, as the distortion in the balance of the three principles continues, the influence of Rajas or the mutative principle comes into play and the pure sentient wave begins to have undulations that are ever increasing. As this wave begins to undulate, there is the formation of the cosmic sense of existence. There begins to be, within the cosmology, a great sense of self awareness, the cosmic feeling "I exist", the great Mahatattva comes into being and the manifestation of Cosmic Mind within the body of Parama Purus'a occurs.

As the mutative principle begins to exert greater influence, and the undulations become more defined, the feeling of doership, or Ahamtattva comes within the Cosmic Mind. Then, through the influence of the static principle, the cosmic Citta, the cosmic screen on which the entire universe is played out, comes into existence. Within this mental projection, there begins to dance the dance of creation. The etherial factor becomes formed as the undulations continue and the aerial factor, then the fire factor, the liquid factor and finally the solid factor. All get formed through the interaction of the sentient principle, the mutative principle and the static principle. The endless combinations of these three principles give ever increasing solidification to the wavelengths and the consciousness of Parama Purus'a is transmuted into the five fundamental factors and finally into solid factor. In this way the created universe is formed. This is the extroversial phase of evolution. The cosmic consciousness is extroverting into the manifest universe. So what is occurring is, the consciousness of Parama Purus'a is being qualified and mutated to form the five fundamental factors and finally to form the material universe.

In this way, within the mind of Parama Purus'a, within the consciousness of Parama Purus'a, due to the creative capacities of Prakriti or the operative principle, the manifest universe comes into existence. So Parama Purus'a is qualified, is mutated by Prakriti. He is the witnessing entity of all creation and it is within His consciousness. It is out of the pabulum of His existence that Prakriti forms the manifest universe. Purus'a and Prakriti are like two sides of the same piece of paper. They cannot be separated out for, even in the quiescent state, when Prakriti is unmanifest and the pure consciousness, the pure cognition, pure awareness exists completely unbound, still Prakriti exists in potentiality. She is there in the quiescent state within Purus'a. They are one and the same, Prakriti and Purus'a, like the two sides of a coin, the two sides of a piece of paper, they are one and the same but they manifest the two aspects of the Supreme. They manifest the pure unqualified awareness and the creative force, the operative force.

In the unqualified state, the operative movements of Prakriti are in complete balance and so She quiescently takes Her rest in Purus'a. But then, when She begins to express, She qualifies the Purus'a, the cognitive entity, through the use of the gunas or the three operative principles to form the five fundamental factors and to form the cosmic mental stratums. So, in this cycle, first the cosmic sense of "I" comes, then the feeling of doership, then the screen upon which the dance is played will become manifest and upon that screen will be played out the dance of creation through the development of the five fundamental factors and the combinations of these factors.

Now, once all of this has been played and the manifest universe exists, then it has extroverted Parama Purus'a into the most densified, the most bound and qualified aspect which is the solid factor. The material universe is consciousness which is bound and qualified and thus densified, roped in if you will by the operative forces. But while there is this extroversial force, there is a force of equal strength that is introversial. So when this qualification of consciousness, the tightening of the loop of operative binding comes to a certain point, there becomes a kind of densification which causes the emergence of the introversial force, that which magnetically draws all back to Parama Purus'a, back to the supreme origin. For the bound consciousness becomes so constricted by the operative forces, that it cannot be contained and so it begins to escape the containment. At this point, the life force is developed, life comes into existence in a very subtle form. This form, this minute and minuscule form, which is formed on the subatomic level, I will call Microvita, that is small life. It comes when the material universe becomes so contracted that the consciousness, which is bound by the operative principles, is so tightly constricted that is cannot remain within the bounds and so it begins to escape from the bounds.

At this point, life is formed from the constricted matter which is dominated by the static principle. The consciousness, the bound consciousness breaks free, if you will, and becomes dominated by the sentient principle and life force comes into play, life takes its origin. This occurs on the subatomic level. Life takes it origin creating minute particles which are in part in the physical universe but in the main, are not physically traceable.

Now, this life force will mutate the physical structure because it is influenced primarily by the introversial pull of Parama Purus'a. So, in the extroversial phase, Parama Purus'a is being qualified, qualified, qualified by the operative principle. In the introversial phase, now life has developed and the call of Parama Purus'a, the magnetic pull is drawing the consciousness again into the cosmic nucleus, or Purusottama. So you see, at this stage of development, all of the introversial forces come into play and the consciousness, which is dominated by the static force, is pulled out of the entrapment of the static forces and it breaks free. The microvita, the small particles are created and mind is formed. The microvita accumulate and form a subtle kind of shadow substance which we will call mind. And so, the type of expression alters and there is the little ameba, with it's very small mind, but it contains life force. Then it goes from a little ameba to perhaps a simple plant, a simple animal. The life force is growing, growing and the mind is becoming more and more present, more and more complex and so the turn of evolution becomes introversial. Instead of going towards matter, from consciousness to mind to matter, now it comes from matter into mind. And in this phase, unit mind or individuality is formed.

So there are so many individual minds. The little doggy has a mind, the little kitty cat has a mind, the cow has a mind and the human being also has a mind. So all of these individual minds associated with physical structures come into existence and through the process of reincarnation, they develop more and more complexity and at the very complex stage there is the human mind. Slowly, as mind develops through the process of evolution and gains in complexity, it will gain different aspects, different stratums and it will become more and more a tiny mirror of the great Cosmic Mind. Like the moon that is reflected in the pond, the human mind is the reflection of the Great. Before, there may be one moon, but there are a thousand ponds and in each pond the moon is reflected. Like this, the very fundamental nature of the Cosmic Entity is reflected in the development of the individual mind. And so these minds become the reflections of Parama Purus'a. They are His children. He has grown them within Himself in His cosmic mental projection through the process of evolution. He has extroverted in the play of Prakriti, and now in the introversial play of Prakriti, he draws the children back to him. They are formed, they are his little replicas, his mini selves.

So what will he do with His unit minds formed through the process of evolution? He cannot just leave them. He must continue to call them, "Come to Me, come to Me. Be part of Me, be one with Me. Be not only my little replicas, but be so much like me that you become me." And so, in the introversial phase of evolution, the living beings are drawn to this stage of replication of His faculties and then they are drawn still further until they gain cognition of him. Then, in the human stage, a great jump is made in the development. At the human stage, all the faculties are present. The capacity for self reflection comes and, with this addition of the final mental capacity, all of the aspects of the Cosmic Mind are present in the small mirrored reflection of the individual minds. So the individual is capable, then, to move all the way through the cycle of evolution to gain self awareness, to gain awareness of their own nature. And what is the nature of each and every one of these little minds? Fundamentally they are composed of the Great Progenitor. They are His reflections and the fundamental nature of each and every one is His nature. So deep in the core of every living being you will find only Parama Purus'a, that great Progenitor, that great Purusottama, the central nucleus of all creation that lies quiescent as the witnessing entity of every living being. And at the human stage, the capacity for self reflection gives the potential to recognize, to perceive Parama Purus'a. At this stage, the living being may choose to utilize self reflection to discover their innate nature, to discover the great source of their existence. And when they do this, the mind becomes more and more subtle, more and more developed. Their is enhancement in the subtle mental sphere, and they continue along the cycle of evolution until they complete full circle, the process of evolution. This can be done individually or an entire species will eventually move through the cycle of creation, merging itself back into the Supreme Progenitor.

As the mind of the tiny individual becomes expanded and the self aware cognition becomes known to the individual, they become able to experience the Atman, the source, the self aware cognition behind the mind. At this point, if they experience the witnessing entity of their own existence, the Atman, then the Paramatman, the supreme witnessing entity of all creation is right there because the one who is witnessing the individual is the very same one who is witnessing all of creation. So once the Atman is full realized, then the Paramatman is automatically realized. And when this awareness of the cognitive entity, this merger of the little into the great occurs, then the little mind, the little self reflective mind, the mirror image of the great mother, the great father gets absorbed because it has all the qualities, all the characteristics of the Cosmic Mind, only in the little mirror. But when it becomes self reflective fully, gaining all of the qualities and characteristics of the Cosmic Mind, when two things gain a complete synchronicity in wave and vibration, they become one and the little mind gets absorbed into the great. And when the consciousness becomes established in the Atman in the witnessing cognition, then in the same fashion, that consciousness becomes absorbed into the consciousness of the witness, of all existence: the pure quiescent entity within which all creation exists, the Parama Purus'a, the Supreme, the ultimate consciousness. So, the awareness of the individual gets merged into the witnesship and finally merged into the quiescent existence of Parama Purus'a and the created manifestation is reabsorbed into the cosmic nucleus. This is the cycle of evolution.
